Like water for Choclate(Como agua para choclate) was the first movie I ever watched that was completely in subtitles. since it was all in spanish. It was a beautiful love story. I felt so sorry for Tita. Her mother was a complete witch and her sister was just jealous because her little sister was pretty and sweet. I liked that Tita's emotions were tied in with her cooking. Tita was sad the day of her sister's wedding. Namely because Tita's sister was marring the man Tita loved. She cried into the cake batter making everyone very sad and sick. It ended up killing the women who raised Tita becase(Nalcha) scooped out the majority of the tears, she died of heartbreak. But when Tita was filling love, like the time the brother-in-law/ex-sweetheart gave her flowers in congradutation for becoming the head cook. It sent every one into an passionate frenzy. It's a good book too with some weird recipets. |
