I have been looking forward to seeing this film ever since I learned that it was in production. And I am very disappointed in it. Nicole Kidman did as much as she could with the role, and was very enjoyable. Shirly McLain was wonderful, and it's too bad that she didn't have a larger role. There was far too much focus on Will Farrell's chacter.
I understand that the writers were trying to give a different slant to the story. I also realize that some people didn't want to see a remake of the old tv show. However, I think the writers missed their mark and I would have been much happier if they had stuck with the original storylines! |
