A masterpiece I didn't want to end.

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen, from start to end I was hooked, it was a 3 hour movie that just kept me involved from beggining to end.
The story of 3 cousins who grew up together and took different paths in life, one a hispanic mix with caucasion who was treated un-fairly by everyone including his own family, one a marine and police officer and one an artist who destroyed his life with drugs and accidently causing the death of his little brother.
Miklo, the hispanic/caucasion mix, was teased by friends and family and beat by his caucasion father, begins in this movie as the "runt" of the group, gets himself sent to prison and becomes involved with a prison gang (La Onda) and finds his calling as a member of something that doesn't judge him by the color of his skin, but by the brown in his heart.
Paco, starts the movie as the "leader" of the trio and street gang (Vatos Locos) and ends up teasing Miklo into provoking a member of a rival gang (Tres Puntos) which starts the chain of events that would forever change the lives of all the 3 cousins.
Cruz, starts as the rational of the 3, who has a bright future ahead of him because of his talents as an artist that gets shattered by the big event in this movie that tears the 3 cousins apart and turns him to drugs and the eventual death of his little brother. (Which ends up tearing the entire family apart)
I tried not to get into too many spoilers in this movie so the people that haven't seen it can see it without me ruining it for them, an excellent movie that never got the media attention it deserves. |
