Sliver by all rights - is no classic. It is;however a good, steamy erotic drama/thriller with better than expected acting and maybe a few lame surprises.Visually this film is top notch even though the story is rather contrived.Sharon Stone has never looked better,at the pinnacle of her glmourous 15 minutes and although I don't believe her to be a very good actress, she is adequate here.This movie explores all kinds of dark territory. Voyeurism and murder and suspicion but it tries real hard to be a mystery triller-something it is clearly not adept at being.It could've just settled for being a nice, steamy drama but went for the gold instead and fell short.Still this is an entertaining film that is worth watching and is never slow or boring.The ending isn't bad either. |
