It's surprising how two movies made one right after the other can be so bad in so many way yet I only save one. I save "House of Frankenstein" (see review) yet I'd call a wrecking crew to tear THIS "house" down. The only high point I'd give this pastisch would be the clever turn-over in the role of the hunchback, performed by Martha O'Dirscoll. I think this is Carradine's first time impersonating the Count, top hat and all. Where's Astaire? Lon Chaney, JR's most overcooked Larry Talbott performance. Ugh! Tear the bloody thing down already! |
