Bill Murray plays a TV weather man named Phil Connors who keeps reliving the same day over and over again, Groundhog Day. Phil is an overbearing, self-centerd, arrogant jerk who cares about nothing but himself. However, Phil does have a crush on his producer Rita (Andie MacDowell) who also thinks he is what I decribed above and so he spends every day, the same day, trying to learn about her to try to win her over and maybe learn the finer points of life. Will Phil finally learn to be a decent human being, or will he just keep reliving the same day over and over, Groundhog Day? This is a wonderful movie with a great story and fine performances by Murray and MacDowell. It is an awesome mix of comedy and drama. Definately worth the rental. |
