An Accurate Movie About the Kansas/Missouri War

As a amateur Civil War historian and someone whose ancestors went through that dark time, I found this movie to be the first that comes close to portraying what actually went on between the Kansas Jawhawkers and the Missouri bushwhackers. There have been so many ridiculous movies made about Quantrill's Raiders that I had some reservations about seeing another. I decided to see it after the History Channel gave it high marks for historical accuracy. They were right. The viewer should come away with a much better understanding of the Kansas / Missouri conflict. |
