The scenery is great, the costumes/makeup are excellent, and I love that creepy background music. The English accents provided by Keanu and Winona are awful, and Keanu's performance itself is pretty dry (sorry Keanu, still love ya!). Gary Oldman definitely steals the show in this movie. Everyone else could crawl around and bleet like sheep and it would still be a good movie due to HIM. He's creepy, he's sexy, and he has this aura of raw power. Everything a movie good vampire should have. And to top it off, he has a romantic side to counter the snimal/bloodlust side. Anthony Hopkins does the best he can in this role, but he comes off pretty goofy. Honestly I don't care because Hopkins can do no wrong in my eyes. Have fun with it! I'll be busy staring at Oldman anyway...
All in all a good movie. Very entertaining. |
