Glossy fluff wasting some great talent

Three unconnectd romance stories about rich middle aged women, owners of the same classic Rolls-Royce, falling for young exciting guys.

There is a lot of good actors/acresses. Lord Frinton (Rex Harrison) first gets the 1930 Rolls-Royce for his wife (Jeanne Moreau); Rich American gangster (George C. Scott) tours Italy in the car with his gum chewing gal (Shirley MacLaine); finally, a strong willed American millionairess (Ingrid Bergman) finally buys the Rolls for a trip to war torn Yugoslavia.

As you would expect the acting is good, unfortunately the stories are like fluff. Very beautiful fluff, I'll give you, but ultimately without nourishment. As often happens with unconnected multi-part movies ("Love Actually" being a notable exception!), it seems like someone had an idea for a story but did not have enough to make a real movie.

Only the final part seemed remotely worth the effort. Here Omah Sharif is pretty effective as Bergman's love interest and you can almost care for the characters.

Overall, this is one to miss. Maybe watch the final Bergman-Sharif segment to see to fine actors (that will leave you wishing they had a good story to match their talents).
