Okay first off, sure the film is mainly remembered for its graphic and long sex scenes and of corese the interogation scene. Well I must say, I didn't find the sex scenes particulary sexy at all. They were pretty dull and could have been cut a little shorter. As for the interogation scene, wow you have a perfect view ryte up her you-know-what, big freakin whoop its lasts not even one second and isnt all that memorable. Fellows belieave me dont go renting this movie just for that one scene. You'll be dissapointed. The only scene I did find erotic was the whole dance club scene. Sharon looked her best there, damn shes HOT.
Alright, now that the sex stuff is out of the way ill get down to the real stuff. The directing and acting in this movie are memorable. Paul Verhoven is a great director and this is one of my favorite films by his. Loved the whole Hitchcok thing he did. The acting is very good especially Stones preformance as Cathrine Tramell the ice cold murder suspect Douglas's charactor falls for. The two aare great together.
This is really a very well done movie with great acting, directing, music, and screenplay. The one thing that kept me from giving this movie an A was the pace is uneven in parts. It slows down and becomes very boring quite often. True even the boring parts are important, ill just blame that on the directing.
So all in all Basic Instinct isnt perfect but it does have alot going for it. Worth a look.
