The only movie that ever made me cry. It was wonderful and I'd recommend to anyone. Once. Mainly because once you see it you'll never want to see it again, it is too sad for a second viewing. The only movie that ever made me cry, and the aniamtion is excellent. Not for children, even though it is not violent for a movie about war, there are a few scenes with the cities being bombed, and the scenes with Setsuko are sad. Based on an autibiography. When Seita's mother dies in the bombings he is forced to live with an Aunt who treats him and his sister badly. He and his sister attempt to live in a bomb shelter but slowly starve. An accurate depiction of war, and it's effects. The scene where Setsukoa sks "Why do fireflies die so soon?" as she buries many and Seita's eyes fill with tears will make anyone cry, especially the way it relates to the movie. |
