You have to buy into the relationship between Hope and Crosby, but if you do so the Road pictures, among which Rio is one of the best, are very enjoyable. Today Bob Hope passed on, so both these major stars of the last century are gone. One of the pleasant contributions of the technology of the modern age is the assurance we will be able to appreciate them for many decades to come. Road to Utopia is perhaps the best Road picture in my opinion, but will be better if you see one or two of the others first. |
