And sometimes really creepy short stories (from Stephen King) shouldn't be made into very mediocre films. This one is all over the map; with terrible acting, a script that can't make up its mind whether it wants to be CHRISTINE or STAND BY ME...not really scary, although it has every right to be. A man moves his wife and little boy back to the town where his big brother was murdered by hoodlums when they were kids. The guy's now a teacher, and as his students get killed one by one, they are replaced by three of the hoodlums who killed his brother. This story is about contronting your past; too bad this movie doesn't provide us with the emotional grip that it ought to. However, if you want to watch this film as a camp classic, it nearly qualifies. But not even. This movie is full of missed opportunities. Maybe it should just stay dead. |
