Truly Underrated.

When I say that, it's so underrated that you didn't know you had this movie in your DVD collection for about a year. The Lawnmower Man's stunning special effects awards them a minor hit since Tron. And like Tron, studio executives have been trying to get rid of this film due to lack of commercial success and the budget pit-falls that followed.
The film also hold the demise of the "virtual reality" trend that fascinated pop culture since the late 80s. Although this may sounds like a negative review, The Lawnmower Man reminds us of the gleeful days of virtual reality and how we as a trendsetting society have moved on.
There is a sequel (Lawnmower Man 2: Jobe's War). But like Caddyshack 2, don't even bother to try it. |
