Nick Nolte pops out on the screen as the emotional constipated Tom Wingo who has to help his sister Savannah by seeing a shrink who's as outgoing as he is introverted. The shrink, played by Barbara Streisand, has to find a way to get Tom to tell her whatever it takes to help Savannah remember. When the two become emotionally involved, this film takes on a whole different dimension, especially since the two just happen to be married, but not to each other. This is one of Barbra Streisand's best movies, because it shows that she can be funny as well as serious and sexy without trying to be. Anybody who has ever had trouble dealing with their emotions can relate to this movie. Barbra Streisand directed, produced and starred in this movie and her son plays her son in the movie. |
