There's a lot of things that are amazing about Juice. It's realism, it's story, it's connection with the characters. Everything, really. You've got your not so atypical New York neighbourhood, in the early 90's, and everything is in it's stereotypical setting. You then have 4 strong black characters whose lives unfold, in about a week. Without ruining the movie, you see how respect, or Juice, can change someone, and make them power hungry, and in the end it doesn't amount to anything but your death. And to top it off, you basically see it all through the eyes of Omar Epps, who's a brilliant actor in this movie (Actually, all the actors in this movie are brilliant.)
It's an amazing movie, with an assortment of famous people, and it will make you think when you're done. |
