This contains a spoiler towards the end:
I first saw this movie with my friend in 2nd grade and we both cried. If it can make 2nd-graders cry, it can surely teach you something no matter how old you are. It is about a girl named Vada Sultenfuss. Her mom died while giving birth to her, and her dad owns and operates a funeral parlor, so death is an influence in her life which also stirs fear in her. Her escape from this is her best friend Thomas-J. They are true friends that do everything together. Obviously, you know something bad will happen but I won't spoil that for you. It is not all sad, though. It's really funny and there are a lot of memorable quotes. If you haven't seen this then I advise you to stop reading here, but if you have seen this tons of time you can read on (CAUTION: HERE COMES THE SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Blooper: when Thomas J is in the coffin and Vada is going hysterical, you can hear him ( Thomas J) breathe in and it sounds like a snore. |
