This is a remake of a 1962 movie by the same name. Robert DeNiro plays Max Cady, who was just released from prison where he did 14 years. He seeks revenge against his lawyer (Nick Nolte). DeNiro plays mind terror with Nolte and his family. This movie is gripping. Some of the violence was unnecessary. DeNiro gives a memorable performance.
