As an avid Doors fan, and philosophical soul mate of Jim Morrison, I did find this movie was embellished and some parts amplified more than others - but that's how Hollywood is - fake and drawn out.

I suggest if you wish to find out the real story behind Morrison and the Doors - pick up a book that is written by either Danny Sugerman (1954-2005), Robby Krieger, John Densmore, or Ray Manzarek. I hightly recommend "No One Here Gets Out Alive" and "Lizard King" both by Danny Sugerman.

The movie is just a depiction of how the Doors were, not all facts are true, but it never said the facts were true in the first place.

Everyone knows the triumphs and failures of The Doors. The plot is just that, and elongated version of their time in the spotlight.

Great film!
