If you know very little about the Doors you may have enjoyed this movie.If you know a lot about them you may have been disappointed because the move didn't add any new light to what happened in the Doors history,and not only that, was often bogus in what it did portray according to Manzarek, and I believe him more than Stone.If you want to get a better idea about the Doors, read Danny Sugarmen's "No One Here Gets Out Alive"-its a shocking,provocative, but very fascinating read(and apparently true). After reading that book, the movie was a letdown. And another beef is that Kilmer, though a great actor, looks nothing like Jim Morrison. Read the book, brother! |
