Director Oliver Stone turns his ways, as he goes from Platoon to the legendary tale of the rock n' roll band, "The Doors". The story goes deep into the lives of the band members, but takes the toll as it describes the creative ways of rock n' roll icon, Jim Morrison. With a great story and great director, the film would have not been complete with the performance of a life-time, given by Val Kilmer. Kilmer's performance, deserves a nomination, for no one else could have pulled what he did. From 1967, Whiskey a Go-Go on Sunset Strip to 1971, in a Paris Hotel, when 27 year old Jim Morrrison passes on, this movie is what movies and stories are all about. |
