I love westerns and this movie changed my mind about the best western ever, the best movie ever. I used to think it was "The man Who Shot Liberty Valance" or "The Searchers" but I know now after watching "Lonsome Dove" about 20 times over the past 16 years that it is the best movie I ever watched. The movie is so well done I tell you don't rent it! Buy it! The many characters portrayed brilliantly buy all of the actors involved. Robert Duval's "Gus McCraey" is the best role he ever played and he was robbed of the Emmy. Tommy lee Jones, great, Chris Cooper, excellent, Robert Urich, excellent, Danny Glover, ditto! Rick Schroeder, Diane Lane, Steve Buscemi, Even Reese Witherspoon was in the movie, she played Angelica Houston's young daughter. She won best actress Oscar for 2005. |
