Fast paced but a bit thin

Discharged from the army Bogard looks for work just before the outbreak of war in the pacific and the attack in Pearl Harbor. There is a good adventure story with some twists which make it definitely worth watching, but the plot is much thinner than the earlier Maltese Falcon (with most of the same actors).
