Affable Vegas lounge singer Ralph Jones (Charmingly played by Goodman) finds himself the new King of England after the royal family is wiped out in a freak accident. Director/Writer David S. Ward is predictably at mediocre work, with most of the story focusing on Ralph's adjustments to the new surroundings and a parlimentary politician plotting against him, as well as him finding the girl he loves, but Goodman and O'Toole (Playing his hapless assistant) have a chemistry together that carries the film's weaknesses. Also with Camille Coduri, John Hurt, Richard Griffiths, and Joely Richardson in a funny cameo. |
