This is so weird because I had written a review before on this, but it was deleted when Yahoo redid their movies. So here goes. Misery is a great movie. One of my favorites. It employs 2 really great actors. James Caan, who is great as Paul Sheldon, the world-renowned author, as well as Kathy Bates in her best role to date. She embraces the role of Annie Wilkes, the psycho. Bates truly deserved the oscar she won for this role. Reason being that she can go from giggly school girl to psychotic killer in 0.002 seconds and make it look real! There were some things that Stephen King fans would be dissapointed about the movie that are different from the book, but in my opinion this is the 3rd best adaptation of a King story, apart from The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. |
