Rocky V is underrated

This is probably the most underrated Rocky movie of them all. So what if Rocky doesn't fight in the ring..... he is retired so what the hell do you expect. Anyone who says this movie sucks is not a true Rocky fan, who only watches to see action scenes and hoop-la. Anyone who wants to see an excellent, emotional story, and is truely interested in the Rocky series should see this. It doesn't have the action of the other sequels, but then again Rocky I wasn't all action, it was emotion and down to earth realism. This is what Rocky V strives for, and achieves. Stallone truely gives an amazing performance, and I think he truely deserved a second Oscar nomination. Too bad the Hollywood establishment has their money shoved so far up their pompous, arrogant asses that they cannot see past Stallone's muscles, and see that he can truely act! Tommy Morrison gives a great performance as the young and eager to learn Tommy Gunn. Seeing Adrian and Paulie argue again took me back to the days of Rocky I, when they were at each others throats. My only problem with this movie is that George Washington Duke may be one of the most annoying men in the history of Hollywood. And I am not referring to the acting, but the character is just plain old annoying, and they needed to steer clear of the whole Don King impersonation. Aside from that small, insignificant problem, Rocky V is great! It has it all, except Rocky in the ring. All of you who say this movie sucks have no emotions and need to burn in hell forever along with Ebert and Roeper, and that DAMN robot from Rocky IV. |
