Disney's The jungle Book is repleate with dead voices from the dawn of recorded entertainment, but still enjoyable. A somewhat sanitized version of The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling, shows why Disney once ruled the animation world.
And why it no longer does.
Disney studios, showing the craft and control over properties that allowed it to dominate Matinee fare for many years, is still evident in this production. The backgrounds, are quite frankly somewhat slapdash as compared to earlier productions, particularly magnum-opuses like Fantasia or Snow White.
But the primary animation is careful, lovingly so, allowing the viewer to identify with, and humanize the animals quickly. Few later Disney productions produce the same effects.
Enjoy it, watch it with your children and grandchildren, be transported to a bygone age of cinema. |
