Beautiful film detailing Anais Nin's life

She began by doing a psychoanalysis of D. H. Lawrence, whose Lady Chatterby's Lover had been banned for sexuality. She meets Henry Miller who scoffs at her interest in Lawrence, dismissing him as too subtle and modest, of all things. And it is through Henry Miller and his wife June Mansfield that she realizes sexual fulfillment. Henry a writer as well, with June always pressuring him to write as Dostoevsky did, develops both a literary interest and passion for Anais. It is simply the story of a moment in a writer's life. Stunningly well done and acted, the cinematography is incredible. |
