Breathtaking!

Stunning visuals, somewhat less substantive than Kurosawa's other films, but breathtaking none the less. One can argue that the film is self-indulgent, but every 'dream' has a lesson attached to it. Kurosawa dreams are beautiful, sad, regrettful, life-affirming, death-affirming, estatic, and devestating. The whole gamut of human emotion is explored and presented in images that will forvever burn themselves into your memory. |
