I haven't been much for watching a lot of silent films, but this one definitely was funny. I saw this as research for my upcoming book. Let me tell you what was quite shocking: this film had borderline nudity in it! Actress Marceline Day shows her cute chest in a see-through bathing suit. I had to freeze-frame it to make sure that my eyes were not playing tricks on me, and sure enough, you can definitely see her goodies showing! (Ha-Ha!) You could also see Buster Keaton's butt in the pool (as if anyone wanted to, huh?). Shocking for the time when the film was made. "The Cameraman" was funny and Ms. Day was charming and delightful to watch. Wish she had done more movies in her lifetime than she had. She died at 91 or 92 in 2000. |
