One of the Most Unique films ever made!

This, for me, is the quintessential Lynch...and Nicholas Cage, too. It is at the same time funny, scary, bloody...perfect! It's been on my top-ten list for years, and makes wonderful use of many of Lynch's favorite actors...Nicholas Cage, Laura Dern and her mom Diane Ladd, Isabella Rosellini, Willem Dafoe...all of them and more. Yes, Mr. Cage and Ms. Dern are over-the-top silly, and the raw sexuality keeps it much closer to NC-17, I think, than most theatrical releases, but it is truly a fun and wonderfully unique film experience. I think this one's easier to follow than some of his later movies, too, so go ahead, schedule a visit with Sailor and Lula! |
