One of the best films of the 80's and one of the best family films of all time, The Aventures of Milo and Otis has been an instant classic, but because my birth was in 1991, I didn't see it until much later, probably when I was in Kindergarten.

Milo and Otis is narrated by Dudley Moore, who tragically died in 2002. It tells the story of the curious cat Milo, and the pug-nosed pup known as Otis. Milo and Otis grew up on a farm and met when Milo tried exploring places beyond his hay loft home. Soon they were playing games of hide-and-seek and exploring outside the farm. When you watch them play, you can't help but smile.

But one day, during a game of hide-and-seek, Milo finds the perfect hiding spot: a box floating by a dock on the river. Milo's weight on the box causes it to float away. Otis tries to save him, but the path the river takes Milo on is blocked by a hungry bear, and Otis uses time to fend it off. Because Otis' mind rests on the bear, he forgets about Milo, and the river takes Milo far away from home. And so begins Otis' journey to save Milo.

Milo's adventures include a giant train, a slumber in an owl's tree, guiding a pig back to his family, falling into a wide hole, and yes, more bears. Otis' adventures include a meeting with a feisty fox, being taken back to shore by a sea turtle, and a long journey to find Milo. Milo and Otis also fall in love with animals of their own kind, eventually leading to offspring.

The Adventures of Milo and Otis is not a film that anyone can avoid. It is definately oe of the greatest family films ever. If you want to live a long life, don't live it without Milo and Otis.
