This is a great conclusion to the Back to the Future trilogy and here, director Robert Zemeckis recaptures that sense of wonder and joy that were present in the first film. This one isn't at all mean spirited and is more child oriented than part 2 was and is also far less confusing.Yep, this is good, old fashioned, action packed, wholesome entertainment with laughs and stunts and awesome visuals galore. The idea to go back in time to the old west was a good one and of course the recapturing of the period is impeccible as usual.Michael J.Fox is in full Marty McFly (Clint Eastwood, that is) charm mode and he turns up his charisma dial to it's maximum efficiency.Christopher Lloyd is as goofy and wild eyed and entertaining as ever as Doc Brown. It looks here like everyone had a blast making this picture and that helps because the aura is passed on to the audience. This is the sequel that part 2 should've been...but I'm not mad.Part 2 was what it was and this is a great send off, almost just as good as the original with the same high spirits and good natured fun. This is also the longest entry in the saga and it shows but thankfully the proceedings are never a bore. A real treat. Movie magic. |
