Billy Wilder made a pluperfect Court Room Drama, with 4 of the greatest actors in movie history & got over the top performances from all four; Tyrone Power, Charles Laughton, Marlene Dietrich,and Elsa Lancaster. (This is Power's last completed film, possibly his best performance). The film, based on an Agatha Christie play, is simply as entertaining a mystery movie from Scene One to the electrifying end as you will be able to find.
I saw this movie 8 times in Theatres over the years, never tire of the performances. A Black & White tour de force! |
