I must say, it's been a long while since I saw this film and it has aged beautifully! (As of this writing, the movie is now 20 years old!!!) And talk about beauty! Michelle Pfeiffer is drop dead gorgeous, as is Cher AND Susan Sarandan, although her frizzy red hair is a bit much. These three "witches" conjure up...the devil, played to the hilt by none other than that sly devil, Jack Nicholson. No one else could have managed this role as well as him. All of them enter into a quad-a-tage, and at least one of the villagers of the quaint little eastern seaboard town of Eastwick is up in arms, and that would be Veronica Cartright, neurotic as can be, spewing digested cherries and profanties all over the place! This movie is wonderful, intelligent fare. And the climax is a doozie!!! Love this film!!! |
