You wouldn't know that Trevor Howard wasn't Cheyanne from this movie. Set in the post-Columbus/ pre-American expansion western United States (Wyoming, mostly), this is a very well done story of a man called back, literally from his death-bed, to protect his family when they come under attack. The movie is entirely in the native languages of the tribes involved with the exception of the voice-over in flash-backs and the thoughts of the re-awakened old warrior. There are a few obvious faux-paus in the production of the movie, but they add a legendary quality to the story. An excellent family movie, that portays the battle between nobility and cold-bloodedness. |
