What child wouldn't love to visit a magical candy factory with singing oompa-loompas and everlasting gobstoppers? I know it was my dream after seeing "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". The movie is based on the book titled "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and was supposed to promote Wonka Bars. However, the bars melted in their packages, so all that was left was this wonderful movie staring Gene Wilder. Wilders' portrayal of the wise but very kookie candyman is unmatched by anyone, especially in the slightly emotional ending where he shows his extremes of both cruel anger and loving kindness. Who can make a great movie? The candyman can!! No childhood is complete without seeing "Willy Wonka" |
