A very delightful and enjoyable romantic comedy, "When Harry Met Sally..." focuses on the 11 year relationship between two people who gradually fall in love. Throughout the film, the viewer gets to see a man and woman's hilarious opinions on sex, love, and friendship.
Harry Burns (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) have both just graduated from college, and are both headed to New York to pursue their careers. They both share a ride to get there and argue over many subjects, mostly the relationships between men and women. Harry's outlook on a man and woman's relationship is that it can never be platonic, no male or female can just be "friends."
When they finally get to New York, they go their separate ways but decide to remain friends. The two meet each other from time to time over the years in time discuss and share crises, happiness, grief, and much more along the way -- including a debate over the movie "Casablanca." Each time they meet up they grow closer to each other and eventually become lovers, ending their platonic friendship.
This is such a good movie. The hysterically funny discussions and original story are reason enough to check out the 1989 surprise box office hit. If you find yourself growing tired of those sappy teen romantic comedies, or a picture too dramatic for its own good, check out "When Harry Met Sally..." You won't be dissapointed!
