I saw When Harry Met Sally...in the theater in 1989 when I was 21 years old. I remember thinking that the movie was kind of sad in a way. The theme that it could take so long to find your one true love and if you miss it and don't recognize it, you might never find it again. I thought it was very true to life in dealing with break ups and the obsession and low self esteem that can follow. I loved the theme of meeting someone when the time is right and all the pieces of the puzzle coming together. Like with Bruno Kirby and Carrie Fisher's characters connecting and that was it. On the other hand, Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan's characters had to become best friends before they could realize they were in love.
So it was a great story and really funny at the same time. My college roommates and I can still say "Pecan Pie" and crack each other up. |
