One of the best musicals ever? No. THE best musical ever? YES! Without a doubt better than anything else on screen, WSS takes musicals to a whole new dimention! A brilliant take-off of Romeo + Juliet in 50's Manhattan, the film has EVERYTHING. Perfect casting, wonderful storyline, brilliant songs and the greatest choreography ever makes this a the ultimate experience. Won a hatful of awards, but they should have won another for Russ Tamblyn, my favourite character in the film!
