AVTAK was not as bad as it's made out to be. Even if age did seem to catch up to Roger Moore in this one, he hung it up with style in his last role as 007. The beginning of the film doesn't waste any time getting to the basics with the action. Bond gets into alot of tricky situations and always manages to escape them. I enjoyed the underwater scene where Bond is nearly sliced by a fan, the firetruck chase scene with 007 hanging from the ladder, and the finale with Bond battling Zorin on the Golden Gate Bridge. Christopher Walken was ruthless as Max Zorin, and Grace Jones was a decent Bond villian as May Day. Too bad her character dies right after turning sides and helping Bond near the end of the film. Not my favorite Bond film, but it is far from being "the worst Bond film." |
