This film, made during a dynamic time in our history, captures the very essence of what it was like in the year 1971. Many social issues were canvassed and the viewer is ingeniously fed what it was like for most of us back then.
Once dubbed, "A 90-minute Dodge commercial"
( obviously by one who just didn't get it ), the story captivated its audience from the get go, and the surprise ending was felt deep in the gut when experienced for the first time.
I was hooked from the start, and have viewed this cult classic over 40 times in my life to date, never tiring of its brillant delivery. They don't make films like this anymore! After viewing it, one can't help but wonder how much has been lost and forgotten over the years regarding the different mind-set we all grew up with than exists today. I guess that's why they call em "The good ol'days!" Way to go, Sergio! |
