The thing is, as tradition goes the movie is infinitely worse than the book. The book is amazing in so many ways, while the movie is a tad slow, a tad boring, a tad negligent of some of the most important moments...nevertheless Daniel Day Lewis is a tremendous talent, and is perfect in that role, opposite Julienne Binoche who holds her own. I didn't think that Lena Nolin was a good fit with this terribly anoying accent of hers, but she was ok. All in all if you don't get hung up on comparing the movie to the book, you will find it quite wonderful, i love Kundera so much seeing his work movialized with such an amazing cast was all i needed, i personally love this film. I LOVE Daniel Day Lewis in this film, he alone is worth the watch, what a phenomenal talent. |
