One of the weakest Hitchcock thrillers, Hitch just seems to be going through the motions - but he's still the master of suspense. The plot is implausible to the Nth degree and you might have fun picking holes in it. For instance, why do the freedom fighters need to run their special freedom bus to Berlin when the regular bus to Berlin takes the same route?
Anyway, To me Torn Curtain was like eating a good lemon meringue pie. Well-baked, well-mixed, cooked by a seasoned pro - but just a sweet confection, not a satisfying meal. |
