Let me start off by saying this is the first Richard Pryor movie I have seen.
This movie should never be mentioned in the same sentence with the first two Superman movies with Christopher Reeve. In fact Christopher Reeve is the only reason I didn't give this movie a "F".
In this version of Superman Clark Kent goes home to Smallville for a class graduation where he reacquaints with Lana Lang(Annette O'Toole). Where it goes wrong is with the casting of Richard Pryor for the Gus Gorman character. Im not sure why he was chosen for this role because as far as I know he is a comedian. I just never bought him as someone who could play this part. I think it would have been better if he focused on being really bad or if he just happened to build this device with ought knowing. First he goes to steal money and when an opportunity arises to make more he gets a job from a guy who is very obviously not trustworthy.
I was very puzzled by this movie. Anyone off the street can make a Superman movie at least a "C". |
