Superman III was--and continues to be--the film I consider the biggest disappointment EVER! At the time, I had not seen the original, but I had seen Superman II, which I thought was absolutely fantastic... it had great special effects and was completely entertaining. Superman III on the other hand, was so bad it was shocking. Indeed, twenty minutes after it began the character of Superman himself had become a sad cliche because there was no longer anything super about him. Richard Pryor? Wasn't he supposed to be funny? I didn't laugh once. Later in the film, when Superman battles himself... The single most bizarre scene in film history... I wanted to leave, but resigned myself to remaining with my friends until the end. How about the end? A giant evil computer spewing out wire... cheesy special effects... turning the ugly villanous sister into a walking hard-drive. STUPID! This is THE BAD FILM OF BAD FILMS! |
