I just watched this on DVD last night and it felt like a brand new movie even though I'd seen it before on TV at least twice in my lifetime. Definitely a must own for any Superman fan or fan of this movie. The remastered picture and 5.1 sound is awesome. The addition of originally deleted seens really adds to the story and amazing visual effects. For all the people who thought Spiderman was great in 2002 release can know see where some of the character ideas and down to earth nature of the hero came from. Superman I is a very down to earth people movie despite it's fantasy/comic origins. Christoper Reeve gave a great emotional and dramatic performance and looks as much like Superman as anyone could. This is a great movie for all ages, though kids under 10 may not get it, especially the romantic aspects. |
