Okay, this movie is good stuff guys. I cannot believe the audacity of people these days. Helen Slater was top-notch, as was the rest of the cast. I don't really think people appreciate the way such films are written, executed, and eventually, distributed. Because a lot of storylines and standards had been set by the Christopher Reeve films, this was was under a lot of pressure. How else were they to make us believe a girl could fly? The writing is so mystical, like a live-action fairy-tale, and the interactions are made with a fate-to-destiny feel to it. You have a buff beauty arriving on Earth, but the evil Eyes of Furious Faye Dunaway have a firm grip on things. It's what we smart people call conflict, and the film is full of moments that fully explain themselves and the details. Most people actually think the writing is bad, and why? It's such an awsome movie. Morally positive and just plain remarkable! |
