I have seen this movie several times over the past 15 years and every time I watch it, it gets better and better. How this film did not go down as a true Sci-Fi classic amazes me. Perhaps, because it's not the traditional Sci Fi film.
It's more of a love story with a Sci-Fi twist...or maybe a Sci-Fi film that's really a love story.
The story is unique and you cant help but get pulled in. The plot development is second to none. The character growth is perfect. Each character is unique in their own way and you can not help but feel for them.
It has the perfect blend of humor, drama and action.
If I was forced to find one negative in this film, it would have to be the special effects. This film was made almost 25 years ago and effects were not then what they are now. But, that's fine. Special effects are not what;s important.
Jeff Bridges should have gotten on Oscar for this, as well as Karen Allen and also the film itself.
As I mentioned before, every time I see this film, it gets better and better. |
