Most likely only person who are 40 years and older can appreciate this film 20 years later. We were just out of high school and the early 80's were still very much like the 70's; a time of discovery and fear. It was great to see Vegas as it was, rather than how it is now and that at that time Japanese cars were not even a blip on the American car scene. The acting by both is so endearing that it makes one cry; especially when he tells her about the baby he gave her. Movies today deal with too much violence and graphics that it is too difficult to believe the story. This movie has no special effects, just pure acting which makes one believe, even this First Baptist, that there just might be someone else out there. Even, if there isn't, it makes you wish that there was. |
